At St. Augustine's we work hard to provide a curriculum suited to the needs of all our learners.
When students join us in year 7 they study English, Maths, Science, PE, Art, Modern Foreign Languages, Design Technology and Music. They also have Learning to Learn which includes RE, History, Geography and IT. Learning to Learn is designed to help students make the transition from Primary to Secondary School and acquire the skills needed to become independent learners.
We have now extended Learning to Learn into year 8 but when students reach year 9 students study all the subjects individually as they prepare for the transition to Key Stage 4 and choose their options.
At Key Stage 4 all students study English, English Literature, Mathematics, Science, RE and Core PE. In addition to this there are a range of options available to the students including Art, Music, RM, Catering, Childcare, PE, Drama, History, Geography and IT. Where appropriate courses may be set up for individual students, accessing local colleges and work experience placements.
